Quick Stop in Chicago

Straight away what comes to my mind is the film Chicago, directed by Rob Marshall. Sadly we don’t live in those glamourous times but have evolved to a modern fast paced hustle and bustle, with less top hats and sequined gowns and more heads down, mobiles up etiquette. Chicago is one of the largest cities in the US and was flooded with skyscrapers overlooking a beach coast. For the brief period I and my boyfriend were there, Chicago, like most cities, was upbeat with its characteristic of known soul warming food stops every 2 seconds.

For our short break, we went up the John Hancock observation deck to see the day skyline of the city and the view along the coast. There was the opportunity to use the sky-high tilt attraction where we could stand and lean against the tower’s glass windows and slowly be tilted forward in order to see how high we were (luckily we have a good imagination and didn’t need that visual assistance, plus I am afraid of heights).

Although the view showed how thousands of humans are managed to be cramped in and between buildings, I couldn’t help but awe at the view. It’s a shame we couldn’t stay longer to explore this jungle, but I wish to return in the future!
