Pancake Day

Quick post to say happy pancake day! I hope all of your bellies are full of yummy goodness, I know mine is!

But what is pancake day all about? According to historic U.K. website – Pancake day is also known as Shrove Tuesday and is a traditional feast day before the start of lent on Ash Wednesday . Lent was the 40 days leading up to Easter.

Shrove Tuesday was the last opportunity to use up the eggs and fats before embarking on the Lenten fast and pancakes are the perfect way of using up these ingredients . So there you go!
